YOUTH CAMP: Locations Bible Study Worship Parties Group Leaders Parents Register
PASSPORTmissions2
offers twice the daily missions opportunity
in cities around the country
Many of you have asked for a Passport experience that offers more time devoted to hands on mission. Here is why: The life-cycle of a youth group is roughly four to six years. As youth groups change and grow, so does their need for the right spiritual challenge. Some years more discipleship is required, other years more hands-on opportunity to practice young faith in action is needed. Passport’s classic program was designed to be discipleship and an introduction to hands on mission action. Passport Choices allows campers to explore more directly how our faith is lived out in a very personal way, outside of traditional mission action.
PASSPORTmissions2 is a different Passport experience:
Don’t look for a college campus or a shiny auditorium full of screaming teens. Pull up to a church and walk into a community of 100 people gathered for a week of ministry in the forgotten neighborhoods of a city.
You will sleep on the floor, help cook food, wash the dishes and chaperones and campers participate in Passport led Bible study together just before you head out for six hours of hands on ministry in the city. In the evening, you will gather together for stories around the dinner table, worship and have an evening party.
Highlights of attending PASSPORTmissions2 include:
Community
Live as a village living life together - sleeping, eating, serving together. Campers will participate in preparing breakfast and dinner, and every day you will pack your own lunch. You’ll learn everyone’s name, and living in one building together will increase interaction between participating churches.
Missions
There will be six hours of missions work each day, twice the normal amount of a PASSPORT youth camp. You will also get to choose which mission site to go to. Mission projects will range from ministering to children and organizing at a donation center to painting, landscaping, and serving at a soup kitchen.
Simplicity
This is missions...for real. It’s not comfortable, and there will be sacrifices. While maintaining the quality of a PASSPORT camp, worship, parties, meals, and Bible study will be intimate and require deeper levels of engagement and participation.
